Green IT
Understanding and acting on the environmental impacts and potential environmental benefits of IT is essential. XAND Corporation is taking an active role in providing environmentally sustainable Information and Communications Technology.
XAND Corporation prides itself on customization to meet the needs of individual consumers and corporations. Integrating custom IT services into the design process from the earliest conceptual stages can produce dramatic benefits for space utilization, facility operating costs and waste reduction. Assessing, Optimizing and Virtualizing your infrastructure reduces excesses in power consumption.
We are working hard to make our datacenters smaller and more energy-efficient so that they will emit less carbon into the environment and reduce costs - without compromising computer capacity or security.
In 2001 we worked with NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) to implement use of a bi-fuel mixture for our generators, allowing us to to extend the potential load of our back-up generators, while remaining EPA compliant Cooling systems cycle air efficiently to reduce exposure to environmental toxins in collocation working offices and data storage areas.
In addition, we are participants in one of the largest demand response programs in the country. As a long time partner of ECS’ Power Pay! program Xand is given advance notice of grid instability and will come off grid both for quarterly checks and when required to do so as part of Operation Save New York to help alleviate pressure on the electric grids.
XAND Adaptive eStructure Business Solutions can address concerns over rising energy demand, its cost and the impact it has on the environment by helping you to:
- increase server utilization and efficiency
- reduce computer room and datacenter cooling requirements
- minimize power surges and shortages affecting business
- dispose of old equipment in an environmentally safe way
- respond in a changing regulatory climate
